EURO POLITEHNICUS 2024 – an excellent event branded UNSTPB and AOSR

The National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest (UNSTPB) together with the Academy of Romanian Scientists (AOSR) organized between 22-24 November 2024, for the first time in the history of the two scientific entities, an International Exhibition of Inventions and Innovations: the EURO POLITEHNICUS.

The show brought together hundreds of participants from Romania and countries from all continents – Thailand, Republic of Moldova, USA, Canada, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Croatia, Poland, India, Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, Poland, India, Philippines – who presented 267 inventions, turning the event into an impressive demonstration of technological excellence and applied innovation. The diversity of projects, ranging from advanced medical and energy technologies to solutions for education and agriculture, highlights both the participants’ engineering skills and the relevance of their inventions to solving global challenges.

“I would like to thank the Rector of POLITEHNICA Bucharest, Mihnea Cosmin Costoiu, and the Honorary President of AOSR, Adrian Alexandru Badea, who supported me in organizing and conducting this wonderful event dedicated to invention and innovation, an achievement to which I only aspired 25 years ago following my participation in international invention fairs in Brussels and Geneva, accompanied by Professor Anton Hadăr, currently AOSR Vice-President”, said Professor Augustin Semenescu – Vice-President of EURO POLITEHNICUS 2024, AOSR Member.

The opening ceremony of EURO POLITEHNICUS 2024 was addressed by the Rector of the University, Mihnea Cosmin Costoiu, as President of EURO POLITEHNICUS, followed by the Honorary President of the Romanian Academy of Scientists and also President of EURO POLITEHNICUS 2024, Adrian Alexandru Badea, followed by Professor Augustin Semenescu – Vice-President of EURO POLITEHNICUS, the President of the University Senate, Tudor Prisecaru – State Secretary, Mrs. Dr. Wiparat De Ong, the head of the Thai delegation (the largest international delegation, consisting of 30 people), Her Excellency the Ambassador of Thailand in Bucharest, Mrs. Dao Vibulpanich, and the Rector of the University of Danube University of Galati, Professor Marian Barbu.

The activities realized within EURO POLITEHNICUS 2024 by the members of the AOSR, namely President Doina Banciu – Honorary President of the Scientific Committee of EURO POLITEHNICUS 2024, Andrei Victor Sandu – President of the International Jury, Aurel Mihail Țîțu, Anton Ficai, Iulian Antoniac and Miron Zapciu, members of the International Jury and of the Scientific Committee, are also worth mentioning.

We hope that the EURO POLITEHNICUS Inventions and Innovations Fair will become a world pole for the dissemination of inventive activities.

The Senate of the Petrol-Gas University of Ploiești has awarded the title of DOCTOR HONORIS CAUSA to Prof. Prof. dr. dr. eng. Anton Hadăr, who is an example of a professional career and who has a vast experience and exceptional achievements, both in teaching, scientific and managerial activity. The ceremony took place on Friday, November 22, 2024.

Prof. Anton Hadăr, vice president of the Romanian Academy of Scientists, has an impressive career at the National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest, where he cultivates the concepts of innovation and research in higher education, and the title is a prestigious crowning of his outstanding professional achievements.

We have the great honor to invite you to participate in the first edition of the EURO POLYTECHNICUS International Exhibition of Innovation and Invention, which will take place between November 22-24, 2024.

The purpose of the EURO POLITEHNICUS show is to present, disseminate and promote the results of scientific research and technological development, to know the achievements and the stage of development in almost all areas of everyday life, to increase the visibility of the contribution of inventors to the international scientific heritage, to increase the level of awareness at the level of society regarding the importance of scientific research and technological development, but especially stimulating innovation and increasing the degree of awareness of the economic environment regarding the importance of applying the results of scientific research and technological development.

Sibiu, with the support of the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitization, have the honor to organize at National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest during the 21st – 22nd November 2024, the International Conference of Nonconventional Technologies – ICNcT 24.

The event is occasioned by the 70th anniversary of Manufacturing Engineering Department (TCM) from the Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Robotics, National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest.

The International Conference of Nonconventional Technologies is the most representative Romanian conference dedicated to nonconventional machining technologies and has a tradition of 51 years old in the scientific world. The 2024 year, 23rd edition subscribes to the current context in which nanotechnologies as part of nonconventional machining are the future of the planet, and their importance in the economic development of every region is heavily considered.

An added value is given to this academic event by co-opting in the international scientific committee remarkable personalities from the field of nonconventional technologies, and organizing the conference in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, which, together with its metropolitan zone, is the most development region of the country.

The papers presented during the Conference will be published in the Nonconventional Technologies Review https://www.revtn.ro/index.php/revtn, scientific publication established in 1997 with quarterly issuing, B+ Review CNCSIS, indexed in several international databases: ProQuest, EBSCOhost, DOAJ, Index Copernicus, Google Scholar and CAB Abstracts.

135th Anniversary – National Defense University Carol I (UNAp)

On November 4, 2024, in the Marble Hall of the Palace of the National Military Circle, the 135th anniversary of the founding and opening of the courses of the Higher War School, the predecessor of the National Defense University Carol I (UNAp), was marked.

The event was attended by the Chief of the Defense General Staff, General Gheorghiță VLAD, guests from various structures of the army, active and reserve members of the armed forces, as well as high-ranking officers members of the AOSR.

Prof. Univ. dr. dr. eng. Doina BANCIU – President of the Romanian Academy of Scientists was invited to award a diploma of excellence and a gold medal at the event.

General Mircea Teodor MUREȘAN, full member of the AOSR, who served as commander (rector) of the National Defense University (2003-2008), emphasized the long-standing relationship of the AOSR with the honored institution.

The anniversary event was also attended by Prof. Prof. Nicolae ISTUDOR – Rector of ASE, Major General Florentina IONIȚĂ-RADU – the first female General, Commander of the Central Military Emergency University Hospital “Dr. Carol Davila” Bucharest, Commander Eugen MAVRIȘ, Rector of the National Defense University “Carol I”.

The event is part of a series of activities that UNAp is celebrating this special milestone in the institution’s history, which started on October 30, 2024.
