The jury was made up of Romanian medical and academic personalities, who were present on this occasion in Braila. The president of the jury was Academician Georgeta Filitti – honorary member of the Romanian Academy, and the jury included Academician Doina Banciu – president of the Romanian Academy of Scientists, Prof. Dr. Cătălina Poiană – president of the College of Physicians of Bucharest, Prof. Dr. dr. Camelia Diaconu – President of the Balkan Medical Union, Cristina Nedelcu – Secretary of State in the Ministry of Culture, Doina Melinte – Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee, Petronela Dobrin – jurist of the Romanian Senate, Head of the European Relations Department, Veronica Dobrin – representative of the cultural life of Braila and civil society and Prof. Dr. Gabriel Prada, President of the Romanian Society of Geriatrics.

The President of the Academy of Medical Sciences, Mircea Beuran, proposed on this occasion the re-establishment of the network of prophylactic ambulatory medical services, conceived by the academician Ana Aslan.

“In view of the continuous increase in the prevalence of elderly people, and more rapidly of those over 75 in Romania, it is necessary to re-establish a system of prophylactic outpatient medical services, as it existed during the time of Academician Ana Aslan. The proposal is to recreate the outpatient network set up by Academician Ana Aslan, adapted to the current context of our health and social conditions. Academician Ana Aslan has dedicated her entire activity and very existence to the elderly in Romania, fighting to improve their health and social situation. Mrs. Aslan’s motto should be our motto, everyone’s motto: ‘Let’s give life to the years and years of life'”, said Mircea Beuran.

The President of the Romanian Academy of Scientists, Academician Doina Banciu, announced on this occasion that the institution she represents signed a scientific cooperation agreement with the Ana Aslan Institute a week ago, in order to continue the research bequeathed by Ana Aslan.

“Academician Ana Aslan was also a member of the Romanian Academy of Scientists from 1973 until 1988, at the same time she was a member of the Romanian Academy. Her entry into the Romanian Academy was naturally based on her merits, but also on the recommendation of Academician Teodorescu, who was at that time a member of our Academy. I really wanted to be here, at this gala, because the name Ana Aslan belongs to you, to the people of Braila, but all of us who, young or old, travel around the world, see Gerovital everywhere and know that it belongs to Ana Aslan, even if today it has a different production brand. Because we support this field of science, I want to tell you that a week ago our academy signed a scientific cooperation agreement with the ‘Ana Aslan’ Institute. Ana Aslan’s achievements were based on research, research that I would like the young and not so young to continue in the sense that Ana Aslan left her legacy”, Doina Banciu emphasized.

Conference of the Central Military Emergency University Hospital ,,Dr. Carol Davila” – “Modern Military Medicine – symbiosis between mission, accessibility and performance”, October 14-19, 2024

0

From October 14-19, 2024, the 13th edition of the Conference of the Central Military Emergency University Hospital ,,Dr. Carol Davila”, with the theme“Modern military medicine – symbiosis between mission, accessibility and performance“.

The international and regional context today highlights SUUMC’s core mission to provide specialized medical care in peace, war and crisis situations. At the heart of this mission are military and civilian personnel, their family members, the wounded in theaters of operations, military pensioners and war veterans.

At the same time, the interconnection of SUUMC with the entire Romanian medical system gives us the possibility but also obliges us to provide assistance to all those who require human and technological resources. The approach of medical-surgical pathology enriches our experience and allows us to somehow return to society the moral and material investment it has given us.

This permanent contact with the medical challenges of civil society and military life leads us to constantly increase our professional capabilities to the standards of professional societies and NATO structures.

“We cannot ask a doctor for perfection but it is reasonable to ask him to strive for it every day”, said Atul Gawande, a famous American surgeon. The imperfections inherent in our day-to-day work on the health front are as many opportunities to improve it on the road to performance.

We invite you, therefore, to reflect together on the proposed themes and, above all, to meet or meet again the doctors and nurses of SUUMC outside the operating rooms, consulting rooms or laboratories.

The Amphitheater of the Integrated Clinical Outpatient Clinic gives us the opportunity to share our experiences, concerns and especially our projects in our profession, full of challenges but also of satisfactions.

We hope that your participation in the 13th edition of the SUUMC National Conference will remain both a landmark in your work. professional as well as a moment of pleasant human interaction!
