From October 14-19, 2024, the 13th edition of the Conference of the Central Military Emergency University Hospital ,,Dr. Carol Davila”, with the theme“Modern military medicine – symbiosis between mission, accessibility and performance“.
Today’s international and regional context highlights SUUMC’s core mission to provide specialized medical assistance in peace, war and crisis situations. At the heart of this mission are military and civilian personnel, their family members, the wounded in theaters of operations, military pensioners and war veterans.
At the same time, the interconnection of SUUMC with the entire Romanian medical system gives us the possibility but also obliges us to provide assistance to all those who require human and technological resources. Dealing with medical and surgical pathology enriches our experience and allows us to somehow give back to society the moral and material investment it has given us.
This permanent contact with the medical challenges of civil society and military life leads us to constantly increase our professional capabilities to the standards of professional societies and NATO structures.
“We cannot ask a doctor for perfection but it is reasonable to ask him to strive for it every day,” said Atul Gawande, a famous American surgeon. The inherent imperfections of our day-to-day work on the health front are as many opportunities to improve it on the road to performance.
We invite you, therefore, to reflect together on the proposed themes and, above all, to meet or meet again the doctors and nurses of SUUMC outside the operating rooms, consulting rooms or laboratories.
