AMEFSS 2019:
The International Conference “ Applied Modeling in Economics, Finance and Social Sciences (AMEFSS 2019) ” to be held on the June 28 to July 2, 2019 in Sozopol, Bulgaria. The main organizers are Sofia University „St. Kl. Ohridski” ( Faculty of Economics and Business Administration), Academy of Romanian Scientists , Plovdiv University „Paisii Hilendarski” ( Faculty of Economics and Social Studies).
The conference topics are the following, but are not limited to: mathematical modeling; stochastic modeling; optimization and control; machine learning and model predictive; data and business analytics. Moreover, the conference will cover the topics: software for modelling and simulation, distributed computing, volunteer (desktop grid) computing, high-performance computing.
In addition, The conference will cover a wide range of topics on the most recent developments and modeling in Economics, Management and Social Sciences. Researchers are encouraged to exchange their experience in resolving practical challenges they have encountered and discuss contemporary economic policies and issues.

On November 8, 2018, at 10.00 a.m., the Marble Hall of the Palace of the National Military Circle, hosted the National Debate “THE SCHOOL, THE CHURCH AND THE ARMY – INSTITUTIONS WITH A FUNDAMENTAL ROLE IN ACHIEVING THE GREAT UNION”. The event was organised by the Academy of Romanian Scientists, as part of the celebration by this institution of a century since the end of the First World War and the Centenary of the Great Union. On May 15, 2018, Carol I National Defence University hosted the round table on the topic “The Romanian Army and the Great Union of 1918”. The event, which is part of the series of scientific events dedicated to the Centennial Celebration of the Great Union, was organised by the Academy of Romanian Scientists with the support of the Section of Military Sciences and Carol I National Defence University.
On May 14, 2018, the Human Rights Hall of the Academy of Romanian Scientists hosted the speech “The Quality of Member State of the European Union and Sovereignty. The Case of Romania”, delivered by Ambassador Constantin Vlad, Founding Full Member of AOSR. The conference, organised by the Section of Philosophy, Psychology, Theology and Journalism, is part of the series of events initiated by the Academy of Romanian Scientists dedicated to the Centenary of the Great Union. The host and moderator of the event was Prof. Adrian Badea, President of the Academy of Romanian Scientists. The Presidium was composed among others of Prof. PhD. Angela Botez, President of the Section of Philosophy, Psychology, Theology and Journalism of AOSR.

General Assembly of the Academy of Romanian Scientists and Gala Award Ceremony of AOSR
According to the decision of the General Assembly of AOSR, on March 29, date of the establishment of the Academy of Romanian Scientists, declared AOSR’s day, will take place the General Assembly of the Academy of Romanian Scientists. During the meeting shall be presented: the activity report for 2017, the 2018 budget, the balance sheet for 2017, the scientific activity programmes for 2018, and the validation of new AOSR members.
The General Assembly will be followed by Gala Award of AOSR prizes for 2016.
At this festivity the official uniform of the Academy shall be worn.

International Symposium “Safety and Health at Work” – SESAM 2017
The National Institute for Research and Development in Mine Safety and Protection to Explosion – INSEMEX Petroșani organised the 8th Edition of the International Symposium “Safety and Health at Work” – SESAM, scientific event hosted by the InterContinental Hotel of Bucharest, on October 19, 2017, with the support and cooperation of the University of Petroşani and the Labour Inspection, under the auspices of the Ministry of Research and Innovation and the high patronage of the Academy of Romania Scientists.

The Academy of Romanian Scientists organised between October 2 and October 14, 2017, at Timişoara, the 2017 Autumn Scientific Session of AOSR. The event, hosted by the Library and Faculty of Electrical and Power Engineering of Politehnica University of Timisoara, was held in an atmosphere of collaboration that brought together academic institutions and authorities of the Public Administration: the Romanian Academy – Timişoara Branch –, the Academy of Technical Sciences of Romania (ASTR) – Timişoara Branch –, the Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences (ASAS) – Timişoara Branch –, the Academy of Medical Sciences (ASM) – Timişoara Branch –, Timiş County Council, Timişoara City Hall, Politehnica University of Timişoara, Vasile Goldiş West University – Arad, Ion Vidu National Art College. Such a partnership, alongside the participants and the communications presented during the Session, attests to the value and importance of the meeting, which has become an emblematic event of the national and international academic space and of scientific research. The 2017 edition of the Autumn Scientific Session of the Academy of Romanian Scientists was held under an equally important and challenging headline: Scientific Research in Support of Sustainable Development.
Between October 19 and October 21, 2017, POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest hosted the eighth edition of the International Energy-Environment Conference – CIEM 2017 with the central theme “Energy Saved Today is Asset for Future”.
This year, the conference was organised by the Academy of Romanian Scientists, POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest and the Academy of Science and Technology of Shanghai, in collaboration with the Romanian National Committee for the World Energy Council, the Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iaşi and the University of Ljubljana. The conference had as technical sponsor the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES).
It is worthwhile noting the very large participation of both Romanian and foreign specialists in this conference (over 180 participants), of which 38 foreign specialists from 18 countries.
We should also say that the 110 papers presented in the plenary conference covered topical and stringent issues for our country as well as for the European Union in the fields of efficient production, transport, distribution and use of energy, renewable energy sources and environmental protection.

Initiated by UNESCO on October 5, 1994, the World Teacher’s Day (Journée mondiale des enseignants) symbolically enshrines internationally the Recommendation of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) and the International Labour Organisation on the status of teachers, since 1966, and a subsequent document, the Recommendation on Higher Education of 1997.
The event is addressed in the broader framework created by the Agenda 2030 of the United Nations organisation for sustainable development (September 2015), which promotes a series of principles and objectives such as: ensuring equal access to quality education, creating lifelong learning opportunities, the support of teachers through vocational training programmes aiming at the ideal of quality education and optimal conditions for carrying on their activity, their motivation through salaries adequate to the importance of the work they perform – the education and training of the younger generations.
